Hey there, I'm Erin!
I’m a mostly self-taught designer who grew up surrounded by creativity — my mama was a traditional sign-writer and is a talented sewist (making hundreds of dance costumes and all my childhood clothing). My sister is a self-taught artist working in several mediums, and even my dad was a maker ‘back in the day’ (read: in the 70s) handcrafting leather handbags.
My first creative (and entrepreneurial) endeavour was attempting to sell my drawings door-to-door to the neighbourhood kids for 20c a piece. Needless to say... I wasn't successful and I eventually had to get a ‘real’ job when I left school [cue 15 years of corporate life at an Australian government agency as a business analyst and software tester]. Strangely… I never studied art at school (interesting fact: I used to suffer from a detrimental ‘fear of failure’).
I was determined to find my place in the creative world and I tried my hand at many things to get where I am today. I’ve been a hands-on maker — designing + handcrafting laser-cut jewellery, soft toys, personalised height charts, baby milestone blankets, and baby wraps (+ much more).
